It was a pleasant Easter Sunday lunch. Our server Freddy was amazing. Caring, thoughtful and extremely friendly. Smile was amazing. Everything came out as ordered, service was quick. Food was great and speedy service.
Let me tell you about the best diner in the United States! If you're considering pulling into the scotchwood diner consider yourself lucky! Don't second guess just go here! Unbelievable food quality high class service and an unbelievably hospitable owner on site! Couldn't find a thing to complain about if I tried! The chocolate cheesecake is unbelievable! I'm glad this place exists!

My wife had the Fisherman's Platter and I had the pizza burger. Both were quite delicious! Dessert was a Napoleon and a piece of cheesecake. Again, very good. And there's beer, too!
My colleagues and I came here for lunch, and I must say that this diner went above and beyond my expectations! Maryann our waitress was the epitome of hospitality. She took exceptional care of us in every way. I ordered the lunch special Panini and Soup with a side of French fries, and a desert of Strawberry Ice cream. The soup was a delicious Lobster Bisque cooked to perfection. I had to withhold myself from finishing the soup at the risk of wasting my main course. The main course arrived shortly afterwards and oh my, what a beauty! The French fries were golden and crispy, and the Panini was ever so delicious 😋! I must say, after 10 years of living across Europe, Asia and Africa, this was the best restaurants meal I've had since my return to the US. It felt as though we were in a 5-Star restaurant! I most certainly recommend this diner to anyone who visits Scotch Plains, New Jersey .
It’s always a great experience coming here. The best Belgian waffles with blueberry strawberry and banana I believe they’re called red white and blue.
Great NJ diner experience! My family and I (4 adults, 2 teens, 1 toddler) came in Black Friday for a quick bite to eat and Scotchwood Diner met our expectations and beyond! Ample selection for any eater and easily could accommodate a large party with kids without issue. We got many items, including those pictured: Mediterranean omelette, chicken souvlaki platter, and a big salad with chicken. All were delicious and affordable for a great diner experience. Stop by!
Great diner food and staff is amazing! Lumberjack, Philly cheesesteak, and French dip sandwich are all fantastic options. The Pepsi soft drink is a must! It was one of the best we’ve had in a really long time.
